i got my first taekwondo exam tomorrow. i had been too chicken shit to do an exam before. meh.
actually it's not only being "chicken-shit", it's also about some kind of perfectionism.
[Shunryu Suzuki Roshi] said in the book "Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind" chapter "Marrow of Zen" that the Buddha would have more mercy with the worst horse (the horse that has the most problems understanding and learning) than with the best horse.
Reminds me how Jesus was more compassionate towards sinners who turned to him, e.g.
[Mary Magdalene]We, too, should have more mercy towards ourselves.
i shouldn't give in to wrong perfectionism. i'm in the learning process. i don't need to be the "best horse"...
